Emilee A. Sahli is a candidate for a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Washington pending graduation in June 2012. She also has a certificate in European Union Studies from the Jackson School of International Studies.  She is currently working on a research paper focused on the future of a Common European Asylum System.

Emilee’s interest in human rights in her community and abroad has led her to become involved in various organizations. She interned in the enforcement division at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in winter and spring of 2011. Emilee also spent the last two summers traveling, in 2010 attending a human rights summer school at the Irish Centre for Human Rights in Galway, Ireland, and in 2011 studying the European Union at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.

She is a new member of Legal Voice’s Self-Help Committee and a volunteer research assistant for immigration and asylum cases.

Emilee plans to attend law school in the fall of 2013. She is interested in immigration and international humanitarian law.
